HomeLink works with garage door openers from 288 to 433 MHz; only select 2007 and newer vehicles reach 433 MHz

Last updated: 2026-10-27

HomeLink works with openers between 288 and 433 MHz; "Select 2007 and newer vehicles are compatible up to 433 MHz." It needs the opener's handheld remote or wireless keypad. A white learn button (Security+ 3.0) is programmed from the original handheld remote, not at the motor head.

A yellow-antenna Chamberlain, Craftsman, Raynor or LiftMaster opener with an older HomeLink, such as HL3, may need the HomeLink Compatibility Bridge. HomeLink says these openers were made "since 2011"; Chamberlain says "after 2011 only".

The Compatibility Bridge

HomeLink: the bridge is for "an older variant of the HomeLink system in your vehicle". It names Chamberlain, Sears Craftsman, Raynor or LiftMaster openers "fitted with a yellow antenna wire". It says: "These garage door openers have been manufactured since 2011." (HomeLink FAQ).

Chamberlain: for "LiftMaster® and Chamberlain® Security+ 2.0 Garage Door Openers; manufactured after 2011 only", with "a yellow learn button and a yellow antenna". The kit has one bridge and one programming remote (Chamberlain HomeLink Compatibility Bridge).

Steps by vehicle

Use HomeLink's search by make, model and year; steps "vary by vehicle make and model year" (HomeLink Programming).
