Learn button colors on LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers, and the remotes that match
LiftMaster and Chamberlain put the LEARN button under the opener's light cover, on the antenna side. The LiftMaster 8500 is the exception. LiftMaster's chart marks the 893MAX, 890MAX, 380UT and 374UT for all four older colors: yellow circle, purple, green and orange/red.
For a white learn button (Security+ 3.0), LiftMaster lists the L993M and L992U, and Chamberlain lists the CHU62.
Where the button is
LiftMaster and Chamberlain: "Look under the garage door opener light cover, on the same side as the antenna, to find the LEARN button." (LiftMaster, Chamberlain). LiftMaster's selector page adds that it "may be behind a panel or light lens" (LiftMaster Remotes and Keypads).
Exception: the LiftMaster 8500 manual says to program remotes at the MyQ Control Panel. "The yellow learn button on the garage door opener will NOT program accessories."
